Best maker starter kit

Hi there!

Can anyone recommend what they think is the best starter kit for a beginner maker? I am thinking the ultimate raspberry pi 2, but am unsure.

Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Raspberry pi 2 and Raspberry pi 3 are the best starter kit for the current year 2016.
