Do you know of any SME that has successfully adopted the principles of Open Source Hardware and made a successful business (line) or product out of that, also in terms of financials?
We are developing an Open Source Manufacturing course at the Danish Design Center mainly aimed at SMEs and would like to have ‘social proof’ of a successful case.

Hi John, thanks for your reply. I believe that our question was formulated incorrectly. We were looking for examples of existing SMEs that already have an established ‘closed/proprietary’ product line and then move towards OSHW. We were not looking for SMEs that already went ‘open’ from the start.
